In the second week of November,2019 cyclonic storm “Bulbul” made landfall in West Bengal Sunderban Dhanchi forest brought extremely heavy rain in West Bengal and heavy rain in few districts of Odisha. NDRF as part of proactive measures deployed 17 teams in the coastal parts of the West Bengal & Odisha. The brave hearts of NDRF commenced nonstop rescue and evacuation work in the affected areas and left no stone unturned to bring normalcy.
• West Bengal:- 11 teams of NDRF were deployed w.e.f. 07.11.2019 to 15.11.2019, in West Bengal in c/w Cyclone Bulbul at various districts i.e. Pathar Pratima, Hasnabad, Fresherganj, Bashirhat, Kakdwip, Dimond Harbour, Namkhana, Digha and Sagar Island. NDRF teams evacuated 194 persons to safer places. Teams also removed 993 uprooted trees, 147 Electric Poles and cleared 635 Kms of road.
• Odisha:- From 07.11.2019 to 15.11.2019, 06 teams deployed in Odisha in c/w Cyclone Bulbul at various districts i.e. Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Puri & Bhadrak. Teams removed 198 uprooted trees and cleared 60 Kms of road.
