NDRF TEAMS ON HIGH ALERT DUE TO DEPRESSION

In view of the IMD forecast of heavy rainfall in Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Vidharbha, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana & North Coastal Andhra Pradesh due to the depression formed in northwest Bay of Bengal, NDRF teams are on high alert in these states to respond in any untoward situation. All NDRF teams are equipped with boats, divers and other flood rescue related equipment along with paramedics staff.

Besides, NDRF teams deployed in Gujarat continuously engage in the restoration of normalcy in flood affected areas with the state administration. The team is providing medical assistance and also distributing food items, water packets and other items of daily need to the needy people in affected areas.

Total 112 teams of NDRF have been deployed in across the country, out of which 68 teams are pre-positioned at flood vulnerable locations to meet any eventuality during this monsoon season.

A 24x7 control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and also in touch with state authority for further development.
