NDRF RESPONSE TO STONE QUARRY COLLAPSE INCIDENT IN SONBHADRA DISTRICT, UTTAR PRADESH.

On 15 November 2025, at around 1500 hrs, a portion of a stone quarry collapsed during blasting activity near the Billi Markundi mining area under Police Station–Obra, District Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh). Initial information indicated that several workers were trapped under the debris.
Upon receipt of the information, one NDRF team was immediately mobilised for search and rescue operations at the incident site.
During the overnight operation, the team recovered one dead body. The search for the remaining missing workers is underway with NDRF rescuers continuing the operation in coordination with the local administration and other agencies.
