NDRF ORGANISING ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF SDRFs, CIVIL DEFENCE & HOME GUARD - 2021

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is organising “Annual Conference of SDRFs, Civil Defence & Home Guards - 2021 on 25th June 2021. The conference will be attended virtually by heads representatives of the SDRFs, Home Guards & Civil Defence.

Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India, Shri Nityanand Rai will grace the occasion as chief guest and inaugurate the conference on 25th June 2021 at 1030 hrs at Head Quarters, DG NDRF, New Delhi.

This conference would provide a common platform to all participating agencies for enhancing our planning & preparation for monsoon season. Moreover, the conference shall provide an opportunity for the stakeholders to share their best practices and work on their operational gaps to improve the response capabilities through mutual cooperation in case of any disaster.

During the conference, presentation on ‘„Weather Information and Forecast, including Warnings for Monsoon 2021 with a focus on Floods, Thunderstorm & Lightening‟, “Flood forecasting with special reference to monsoon 2021” and “Common Alert Protocol and dissemination of warning message during disaster with focus on floods” will be made by the eminent speakers of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Central Water Commission (CWC) and Center for Development of Telematics (C-Dot) through video conference.

It is worth mentioning here that the NDRF is continuously engaged in the capacity building of SDRFs, Civil Defence & Home Guards and also committed to strengthen the community as the first responder through its various outreach programs viz. training, awareness program and mock exercises.
