NDRF HOLDS TWO-DAY ANNUAL TRAINING & OPERATIONS CONFERENCE (ATOC) – 2025 AT 08 BN NDRF, GHAZIABAD
Ghaziabad: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted two-day Annual Training and Operational Conference (ATOC)-2025 at 08 Battalion NDRF, Ghaziabad under the Chairmanship of Shri Piyush Anand, IPS, Director General, NDRF. This conference serves as an important platform to review operational readiness, assess training methods and strategize future disaster response initiatives of the Force.
Senior Officers from NDRF Headquarters, Commandants and Field Officers of Battalions actively participated in the conference to evaluate progress across various disaster management domains and deliberate on key reforms aimed at strengthening disaster response mechanisms. During these two-day sessions, DG NDRF reviewed the operational activities and achievements of the Force in 2024 and analyzed the strengths and weaknesses and road map to revamp the operational strategies to enhance operational efficiency to save more lives.
Since NDRF has declared year 2025 as ‘Year of Training’, the special focus was made on review and refining of training methodologies to make it closer to real life situations.
The conference also undertook a critical analysis of training gaps and field execution challenges, with discussions centered on INSARAG certification, high-altitude rescue techniques, scenario-based drills and use of modern tools in rescue operations.
A thorough brainstorming was done to understand the actual field issues related to training, operations, equipment and coordination with other agencies and their possible solutions to overcome problems faced on ground in a time bound manner. On this occasion two precis namely “Collapsed Structure Search & Rescue” and “Medical First Responder” were also unveiled by the Director General, NDRF.
On the occasion an DM exhibition was also displayed by various vendors to display latest gadgets in the field of disaster response. The Director General lauded the contribution of all the NDRF rescuers in saving lives and the event concluded with a resolution to infuse maximum technology and specialization in rescue operations and to work hard to save each life with all the might and strength that NDRF has.
