NDRF EVACUATED OVER 400 PERSONS IN ASSAM 02.08.2018

The Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations by NDRF in flood affected areas across the country are continuing.

Assam : Heavy rains created major water logging in several low lying villages and stranded several people in Assam. Yesterday, a team of NDRF deployed at District Golaghat for emergency response commenced rescue operations at Katkotia, Gowaltop and Kuwaripathar villages and evacuated 348 persons to safer place. Today, NDRF teams are conducting evacuation operation at Gandhigaon, Bholaguri & Chapuri villages in district- Golaghat in Assam. Operation is still in progress.

Yesterday, NDRF team deployed at Shivsagar evacuated 98 persons to safer place. Today, teams are operational at village- Gourisagar, Raghubar Gaon. Operation is still in progress.

Uttar Pradesh : In addition, 01 team is also operational at Village- Galamandi, under tehsil- Nanpara in district Behraich, Uttar Pradesh where increased water level in a pond created waterlogging and stranded several people. Operation is still in progress.

Jharkhand : NDRF teams deployed in Distt- Deoghar (Jharkhand) in connection with Sarawani Mela-2018 provided medical first aid to 265 needy persons.

A 24x7 control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation round the clock and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
