NDRF conducted SAR Operation after Flash Flood in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

After heavy rainfall in many parts of Himachal Pradesh, a flash flood hit the Kangra district of the state. Reportedly, several people have been stranded near Vill- Boh and Vill- Tatwani, both under Sub- division- Shahpur of district Kangra (H.P.). After getting intimation of the incident from the District administration, 03 NDRF teams had been mobilized immediately from the nearest RRC Nurpur.

Despite difficulties in reaching to the spot due to landslide, 01 NDRF team managed to reach the Vill- Tatwani and started search and rescue operation. Additionally 02 more NDRF teams have been mobilised.

In view of the present situation and IMD forecast, NDRF Teams are kept on alert at Bhatinda (Punjab). A 24*7 NDRF control room is closely monitoring the situation and is in close coordination with the state & district administration.

112 NDRF teams also have been deployed/pre-positioned across various vulnerable parts of the country in view of impending flood for immediate response.
