The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has intensified its rescue and relief operations in the flood ravaged Kerala State. As of today, a total of 55 teams of NDRF are relentlessly engaged to relocate the marooned people in flood ravaged state. 15 teams are operational in Thrissur, 13 in Pathanamthitta, 11 in Alappuzha, 05 in Ernakulum, 04 in Idukki, 03 in Mallapuram and 02 each in Wayanad and Kozhikode. Today, 02 more teams were airlifted from Pune airport & 01 is ready for airlifting. This is the highest ever deployment of NDRF in a single state since its raising.
2. Each NDRF team is accompanied by doctors/paramedics & essential medicines. NDRF responders are working round the clock in extremely challenging conditions to provide every support to state administration in its endeavours. Today, NDRF teams rescued 29 (Alappuzha-06, Malapuram-07 & Thrissur-16), evacuated 3550 (Alappuzha-774, Ernakulum-473, Malapuram-347, Pathanmithitta-980 & Thrissur-976 ) persons till the last report came.
3. Yesterday, NDRF teams rescued 109 (Pathanmithitta-01, Alappuzha-85 & Wayanad-23) persons and evacuated 2902 (Pathanmithitta-915, Ernakulum-445, Idukki-30, Alappuzha-373 & Wayanad-1139) persons.
4. So far, NDRF teams rescued 194 persons & 12 livestock & evacuated 10,467 persons and provided Pre-Hospital Treatment to 159 needy persons till now. Operations are still going on.
5. Director General, NDRF is personally supervising the on-going rescue operations by NDRF in Kerala. A 24x7, NDRF control room is monitoring the situation round the clock and is in close touch with other agencies/stakeholders.
