MONSOON-2020: NDRF RESCUE & RELIEF OPERATION IN BIHAR

The flood rescue and relief operations by NDRF are continued in flood-ravaged parts of Bihar. Despite all odds, NDRF responders are working round the clock to provide every support to the state administration in the restoration of normalcy in the flooded areas.
21 flood rescue teams of NDRF are deployed in Bihar in connection with flood-like situations. Today, NDRF teams deployed at Darbhanga, East Champaran and Saran districts commenced evacuation operations in the low lying areas and safely evacuated 215 Marooned people. Besides, NDRF teams are also assisting the state authority in the distribution of relief materials in the flood-affected areas.
During the current monsoon season, NDRF teams have evacuated more than 7,840 people & 265 livestock to safer places in Bihar and have distributed 8350 food pkts & 2,630 Kg food items among the needy persons.
The Force is in constant touch with Indian Metrological Department (IMD), Centre Water Commission (CWC), and other agencies. The battalion commanders are in touch with state authorities to render all possible assistance in the time of crises.
A 24x7, NDRF Control Room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation round the clock.
