National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is going to organize an “Annual Conference on Capacity Building for disaster response 2023” on 6th June 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference will be attended by eminent speakers and DsG/ADsG of all State/UTs of the SDRFs, Home Guards, Civil Defence & Fire Services.
Hon’ble Minister of State (Home), Government of India Sh. Ajay Kumar Mishra will grace the occasion as chief guest and inaugurate the conference on 6th June at 1000 hrs. Mrs. S. Sundari Nanda, Special Secretary (Internal Security) will be the chief guest on the valedictory session scheduled on same day. NDRF has been organizing this conference for capacity building of stakeholders for last 10 years.
During the conference various agenda points like Integrated Response to Disaster Challenges, Monsoon Ops Preparedness, Co-ordination with SDRF and agenda points, Capacity Building for CBRN Contingency, Futuristic Response to Biological Emergency and many more topics to make the road map for strengthening and capacity building of SDRFs, Civil Defence, Home Guards & Fire Services, issues related to the Disaster Management Training, Good Practices adopted and way forward shall be discussed.
The conference shall provide a platform for the stakeholders (SDRF/CD/HG& Fire Services) to share their best practices, lesson learnt, rectify the shortcomings and work to improve the response capabilities. This conference shall also be utilized by the stake- holders for planning and preparing for the coming monsoon season.
It is worth mentioning that the NDRF is relentlessly engaged in the capacity building of SDRFs/Civil Defence & Home Guards and also committed to strengthen these agencies through its various outreach programs viz. training & capacity development initiatives.
In order to make community as first responder during the disaster, NDRF is conducting mock exercises, FAMEx on various disaster scenarios with the active participation of all stakeholders across the country. Besides, School Safety Program (SSP), Community Awareness Program (CAP) are also being conducted and more than 76 Lacs got benefited so far through these programs.
