07 NDRF personnel awarded with Presidents Police Medal For Distinguished Service and Police Medal For Meritorious Service

07 NDRF personnel awarded with ‘President’s Police Medal For Distinguished Service’ and ‘Police Medal For Meritorious Service’ on the occasion of Independence Day – 2021

Officers & personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been awarded with the prestigious ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ and ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ on the occasion of Independence Day-2021.

The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded for long and distinguished service to individuals who have served at least 25 years in the State/Central police or in security organizations. Individual must be prior recipients of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and must have held that medal for at least six years. This year Shri Amrendra Kumar Sengar, IPS, IG NDRF has been conferred with ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ for his outstanding contribution towards the service. He is a 95 batch IPS officer of UP cadre. Presently he is posted at HQ DG NDRF, New Delhi as IG NDRF.

The Police Medal for Meritorious Service is awarded to the personnel of police and security organization who have completed a minimum service of 18 years. The medal is awarded to personnel for their commendable work whether operational or administrative. Shri Rakesh Ranjan, Deputy Commandant, Shri Viswanathan Sridhar, Assistant Commandant/JAO, Inspector/Communication Mathew Varghese, SI/GD K. Hanumantha Rao, ASI/GD Yoginder Kumar and HC/GD Lal Chand have been awarded with ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ in recognition to their outstanding services.

So far 11 NDRF Officers/personnel have been awarded with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 80 personnel with Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
