04 NDRF officers awarded with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence Day - 2023

Officers of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been awarded with the prestigious ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ and ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ on the occasion of Independence Day-2023.
The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded for long and distinguished service to individuals who have served at least 25 years in the State/Central police or in security organizations. Individual must be prior recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and must have held that medal for at least six years. This year Shri Jacob Kispotta, Commandant, NDRF has been conferred with ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ for his outstanding contribution towards the service. He joined Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in 1995. After completion of basic training he was posted to CISF unit SCCL Bellampalli, Andhra Pradesh when Naxal activities were on its peak where he worked hard with full dedication. Presently, he is on deputation with 3rd Bn NDRF at Mundali, Cuttack (Odisha) and has supervised various significant rescue operations like TITLI, FANI etc.
The Police Medal for Meritorious Service is awarded to the personnel of police and security organization who have completed a minimum service of 18 years. The medal is awarded to personnel for their commendable work whether operational or administrative. Shri Bharat Bhushan Vaid, Deputy Inspector General, Shri Suneel Kumar Singh, Commandant and Shri Sunil Dutt Verma, Deputy Commandant of NDRF have been awarded with ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ in recognition of their outstanding services.
So far 13 NDRF Officers/personnel have been awarded with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 91 personnel with Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
