ALL KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA’S OF DELHI & NCR SENSITISED BY NDRF

Students are more vulnerable during disaster. The impact of disaster can be drastically minimised by sensitising the students on disaster response as they are very eager to learn and can spread awareness amongst many persons in their families & localities.

 

 To empower the students to act as independent responders in case of any calamity, a month long School safety training was conducted by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in all Kendriya Vidhayalaya’s of Delhi & NCR regions to foster a disaster resilient country.

 

The programme was aimed on capacity building of students and teachers, school preparedness plans, rehearsals, prevention, to promote faster rehabilitation during post disaster and evacuation activities. NDRF teams provided expert guidance to schools andsensitised more than 49,000 school student and staff during a month long programme.

 

To promote this awareness programme and generate interest among the students, an Inter School competition is also being held on School Safety & disaster preparedness. Students competed in evacuation procedure, First Aid to victims, managing soft tissue injuries, Duck Cover Hold (DCH), lifting & carrying techniques. Besides, an open essay competition on the topic- “How Will I Respond In Case of An Earthquake” in two categories  i.e category –I- Student from 6-9 and category –II- Class 10-12 students is also being conducted by NDRF. Best three schools & students in each category will be awarded accordingly, to appreciate their learning efforts.

 

Apart from Delhi region, All NDRF Bns are conducting school safety training in their respective areas, all over the country to make India a disaster resilient nation.NDRF is continuously engaged to sensitize the community about disaster through its awareness programme and sensitised over 51 lakhs persons across the country since its inception.
