FLOOD - 2017

  1. ASSAM: Several districts of Assam were severely affected with floods. Due to pre-positioning of teams, in advance NDRF responded promptly and timely in all flood like situations in various districts of Assam. In the third week of August, 2017, due to heavy rains in North East regions several districts of Assam were affected with floods, total 19 teams of NDRF were deployed at Guwahati, Cachar (Silchar), Gopur (Biswanath), Barpeta, Bongaigaon,  Kokrajhar, Majuli, Chirang,  Dhubri, Morigaon, Nagaon,        Dhemaji,       Sadia (Tinsukia), Jorhat, Sibsagar and Dibrugarh for search and rescue operations as well as for distribution of relief material in consultation with state government. This is the highest ever deployment of NDRF in Assam.  

NDRF teams conducted a number of flood rescue operations, in which rescued 94 persons, evacuated 8001 persons & retrieved 14 dead bodies. Medical assistance was also provided to 230 flood affected people.

  1. BIHAR: Due to heavy rains and water released from Nepal, most of the rivers flow above danger level and there was flood like situation in the several district of Bihar. To cope up the flood situation, NDRF air lifted 10 teams from Bhubaneswar and 07 teams from Bhatinda and a total 28 teams were deployed in various districts of Bihar i.e. Kishanganj, Supaul, Darbhanga, Patna, Muzzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Buxar, Bhagalpur, Araria, Gaya, Katihar, Nalanada, Begusarai, Samstipur, Munger, Madhubani, Purnia, Sitamarhi, West Champaran and Madhepura. This is the highest ever deployment of NDRF in Bihar.

NDRF teams conducted a number of flood rescue operations, in which rescued 956 persons, evacuated 46567 persons & 287 live stocks and retrieved 45 dead bodies. Medical assistance was also provided to 10,221 flood affected people.  

  1. GUJARAT: Gujarat has experienced heavy rains this year. Due to heavy rains in second and third week of July, there were flood situations in the several districts of the state. As per the request of state government to manage the flood like situations, NDRF airlifted 03 teams from Delhi, 03 teams from Bhubaneswar and 04 teams from Rajali Air Base, Tamil Nadu. As such 33 teams of NDRF were deployed at Ahmadabad, Banaskatha, Patan, Bhuj, Morbi, Rajkot, Mahisagar, Aravalli, Vadodara, Surendernagar, Surat, Anand Kheda, Valsad and Gandhinagar for search and rescue operations as well as for distribution of relief material in consultation with state government. This is the highest ever deployment of NDRF in Gujarat.

NDRF teams conducted a number of flood rescue operations, in which rescued 1355 persons, evacuated 7331 persons & 27 live stocks and retrieved 12 dead bodies. Medical assistance was also provided to flood affected people.

  1. UTTAR PRADESH: There were flood like situations in several districts of eastern UP. As per the request of state government to manage the flood like situations, NDRF airlifted 04 teams from Pune. As such 24 teams of NDRF were deployed at Lucknow, Varanasi,  Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri,         Ballia, Sharavasti, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Balrampur, Gonda & Deoria for search and rescue operations as well as for distribution of relief material in consultation with state government. This is the highest ever deployment of NDRF in Uttar Pradesh.

NDRF teams conducted a number of flood rescue operations, in which rescued 209 persons, evacuated 26916 persons & 8 live stocks and retrieved 14 dead bodies. Medical assistance was also provided to 24060 flood affected people.

  1. 5. WEST BENGAL: Due to heavy rains in the region and rise of water level in most of the rivers, there were flood like situation several districts of the state. As per the request of state government to manage the flood like situations, NDRF airlifted 07 teams from Rajali Airbase, Taminl Nadu. As such 19 teams of NDRF were deployed at Rajarhat (Kolkata) Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Birbhum, Medinipur, Malda, South Dinajpur & North Dinajpur for flood rescue operations and distribution of relief material in consultation with state government. This is the highest ever deployment of NDRF in West Bengal.

 

NDRF teams conducted a number of flood rescue operations, in which rescued 253 persons, evacuated 6062 persons and retrieved 09 dead bodies. Medical assistance was also provided to flood affected people.

 

DERAILMENT OF KALINGA-UTKAL EXPRESS (PURI-HARIDWAR) NEAR KHATAULI (UP) RAILWAY STATION ON 19.08.2017

The thirteen coaches of Haridwar bound Kalinga-Utkal Express (Puri-Haridwar) derailed near Khatuali Railway Station, approximately 24 kms away from Muzaffarnagar on 19.08.2017.  In which some passengers are reported to be trapped under the toppled coaches.

On receipt of the information, 01 team of NDRF immediately rushed to the incident site from NDRF Base Ghaziabad and started search and rescue operations. Sensing the magnitude of the incident, 03 more teams of NDRF mobilized from Ghaziabad and Delhi to strengthen the rescue operation.

All the NDRF teams comprised of trained responders, Canine Squad, equipped with state-of-the-art Disaster Management gadgets and Medical Components conducted Search & Rescue (SAR) operations and retrieved 04 dead bodies which were underneath the collapsed and toppled coaches by using specialized techniques.

BUILDING COLLAPSE AT BHINDI BAZAR, DONGRI, MUMBAI ON 31.08.2017

A five storey residential building at Bhindi Bazar in Dongri area of Mumbai collapsed on 31.08.2017, in which some people are reported to be trapped.

     On getting the information, 01 team stationed at RRC Mumbai rushed to the incident site and started rescue operations. To intensify the rescue operations, 02 more teams NDRF mobilized and joined the rescue operations.

     All the 03 teams conducted Search and Rescue Operations throughout the day and night at the incident site and rescued 03 live persons and retrieved 26 dead bodies.

RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF THROUGH CHOPPER

NDRF team deployed for flood rescue operations in Naugarh Tehsil of Distt Siddharthnagar. On 20/08/2017, team got information that embankment on river "BUDHI RAPTI" has been breached near Village Satwari, Bangra and Tadiya Bazar and due to that these villages were flooded with the water level rise up to 08 feet. The marooned villagers required immediate rescue. NDRF try to reach to the villagers through IRB boats but could not succeed due to flow of extremely high current of water coming from the breached embankment. 

Team immediately requested to DM Siddharthnagar for chopper, who in turn given requisition to Indian Air Force and chopper arrived there with half an hour but Air force required trained heli-slithering rescuers to evacuate the marooned villagers. Fortunately, Insp Nitin and two other rescuers, trained in heli-slithering boarded in the chopper and jointly started the rescue ops in these three villages. In all total 44 persons (36 adults and 8 children) were rescued from these villages by the joint rescue operation carried out by the NDRF & Air Force.

On 23 Aug 2017 while evacuating a pregnant lady with her guardian by NDRF team from her far flung flood affected village - Patjilwa, under Block - Chiraiya, Distt - Motihari (Bihar), she delivered baby boy on NDRF boat.  Mrs Manisha Devi (28 yrs), W/o Shri Nand Kishor Sahani was in advance stage of pregnancy & developed severe labour pain at her flood hit village Patjilwa. Circle Officer Chiraiya Block immediately informed NDRF team for providing help to the expecting mother. NDRF team promptly responded and rushed to her house. NDRF team professionally tackled the situation with civil medical team & after assessing her condition finally decided to evacuate her to the nearby hospital by boat. During evacuation, she delivered baby boy in the midstream of Budhi Gandak River flood. NDRF team with civil medical representative played significant role in safe child birth. Further, Mother & newborn baby shifted/admitted to nearby Govt. Hospital at Chiraiya (Motihari) in sound condition.

Mrs Manju Devi (26 yrs), w/o Shri Brajesh Kumar was in advance stage of pregnancy & developed labour pain at her flood hit village.   Further, mother & newborn baby shifted/admitted to nearby Govt Hospital at Barauli (Gopalganj) in sound condition.

NDRF team deployed in Madhubni, Bihar evacuated a pregnant lady namely Harzana Khatun on 16.08.2017 from her far flung flood affected Village under Block Benipatti, Distt Madhubani. While evacuating on NDRF boat, the pregnant lady develops labour pains she delivered a baby child on the NDRF boat.

Kanpur, UP, Building Collapse

On 01.02.2017  information received from TV news and on confirmation of District Magistrate, Superintendent  of Police and Deputy Superintendentof Police, Kanpur  (UP) regarding a under construction multi story building collapse at Jajmau Thana- Chakeri, Distt- Kanpur, UP. Immediately five teams of 11 Bn NDRF, Varanasi, UP comprising 192 rescuers, 04 canine alongwith Collapse Structure Search Rescue/ Medical First Responder  (CSSR/MFR) and other DM equipment were mobilized to incident site. Team carried out search and rescue operation under the command of Sh. S. P. Selvan, DIG NDRF and Sh. Alok Kumar, Commandant w.e.f. 01.02.2017 to 07.02.2017. During the operation NDRF teams evacuated 12 live victims and retrieved 06 dead bodies from the debris.

Derailment of Hirakund Express-2017

On 22.01.2017, on receipt of information through News Flash on local News Channel of Andhra Pradesh regarding Hirakhand Express running from Jagdalpur to Bhubaneshwarderailed which eight coaches of the train derailed. The incident took place at about 2300 hrs, approximately 28 km away from Rayagada railway station of Odisha.Accordingly one search and rescue team of NDRF immediately rushed to the incident site at 0100 hrs from its Regional Response Centre (RRC) Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and reached on the spot at 0500 hrs. Team started search & rescue operation. Four additional teams along with 04 canine alongwithstate-of-the-art Disaster Management gadgets and Medical Components were mobilized from Mundali, Cuttack, Odisha  at 0155 hrs and 0335 hrs respectively for incident site. NDRF teams comprise of trained responders, equipped with state-of-the-art Disaster Management gadgets and Medical Components. Teams conducted search and rescue operation under the supervision of DIG, South Zone and teams evacuated 13 live and retrieved 15 dead bodies.

Cyclone “Vardah”

On 06thDecember, 2016 onward information received IMD alert regarding deep depression over West Central and adjoining South West Bay of Bengal & Cyclone alert for South Andhra Pradesh coast and North Tamil Nadu. In view of the cyclone “Vardah”  alert accordingly 19 teams of NDRF i.e. ( 08 teams of  Guntur, Guntur, 08 teams fromArakkonam (Tamil Nadu) and 03 teams of Pune (Maharashtra) NDRF Battalions were deployed various places ofi.e.  Vishakhapatnam, Ongole,  Chittoor and  Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuramin Tamil Nadu and Puducherryw.e.f. Andhra Pradesh 11.12.2016 to 13.12.2016, Puchcherrayw.e.f. 11.12.2016 to 12.12.2016 and Tamil Nadu w.e.f. 11.12.2016 to 16.12.2016. During the deployment of NDRF rescued 06  pers, retrieved 02 dead bodies, removed 2500 nos  fallen tree and 214 Km road cleared.

Derailment of Patna-Indore Express

On 20.11.2016 at 0310 hrs Patna-Indore Express train derailed, approximately 60 Kms away from Kanpur, UP at Pukharayan. 14 bogies of the train derailed and a large number of passengers trapped under the debris. On receipt of information immediately one team rushed to the incident site from RRC location at Lucknow at 0530 hrs and reached incident site at 0810 hrs and started search and rescue operation. Two more teams left from NDRF Base Varanasi at 0530 hrs and reached at 1245 hrs. To strengthen the rescue operation 02 additional  teamsirlifted from Hindan Airbase Ghaziabad, UP at 1001 hrs and reached at Chakeri Airbase at 1105 hrs . NDRF teams reached at the incident site and joined the operation. Teams equipped with state-of-the-art disaster management gadgets with medical components and canine. During the search and rescue operation NDRF teams evacuated 55 lives victims and retrieved 74 dead bodies.

Flood-2016

During the year-2016  NDRF teams were deployed various places of Uttarakhand, MP, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tripura, Karnataka, West Bengal, Jharkhand, UP, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Gujarat and Telengana. During the deployment NDRF teams carried out rescue and relief operation teams evacuated/rescued total 76862 persons, 21 dead bodies retrieved and distributed relief materials to flood affected pers. NDRF also helped district administration in evacuation of approx. 946 livestock to safer places.

Uttarakhand Forest Fire

During the third week of the month of April, 2016, the forest blaze in Uttarakhand became unbridled and spread in huge areas of Pauri, Almora and Chamoli districts. On 30 April, 2016, 03 teams of NDRF, Ghaziabad were deployed in coordination with State machinery to assist them extinguishing the extensive forest fire raging in these three districts. NDRF teams divided in to sub teams and doused the fire successfully at Mandakhal, HaraliSain, DuttaKhal, ChoriKhal, RahaKhal, GhorkiaKhal, Mehlchori and Maroda, FaidKhal in Pauri district.  ShitlaKhet, Binsar, Dhaula Devi, Someshwar, BhikiaSain, Kanali China, AapiGaon, Aradeo, Bagra, Manoli, Binsar, Chaula Devi and Someshwar in Almora and  Bigoli, GopeshwarMandal, Van Prabhag, KhalNangnath, GadonaNangnath, Upper Chamoli, KandaiGhat, Tripakh, PatalgangaGanai, Joshimath road, Jalwad and Mangroli in Chamoli districts. During the deployment NDRF teams assisted to extinguish fire 125.2 Kms& 8 Hectare in Almora, 05 Hectare in Pauri and 13 Km in Chamoli district and saved 03 houses in Pauri district.

COLLAPSE STRUCTURE OF FLY OVER AT KOLKATA (WB)

On 31st March, 2016 at about 1317 hrs a part of under construction Vivekanand fly over near Girish Park in Kolkata, (WB)  has been reported collapsed. Many passengers passing under this bridge were reported trapped and a few persons were reported died. On receipt of the information, as per the direction of DG NDRF 10 teams comprising 400 rescuers of  02 Bn NDRF along with specialized equipments meant for Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) operations i.e. Life Detectors, Air Lifting Bags, Gas Cutter, Chain Saws, Chipping Hammer, Hydraulic Jacks, Angle Cutters, Medical First Aid kits, 04 dogs etc . As priority was to evacuate the live victims, dogs and life detectors were mobilized along with the teams to locate the victims. One doctor, 08 nursing assistants along with other required medical assistance was also deployed to provide first medical response to the victims. Beside these to provide technical assistance in clearance/breach of debris one engineers team comprising of one Assistant Engineer and 08 Junior Engineers was also deployed to the site. Teams conducted search and rescue operation under the command of Sh. S S Guleria, DIG & Commandant, 02 Bn w.e.f. 31.03.2016 to 02.04.2016 and retrieved 10 dead bodies.

 

WORLD CULTURAL FESTIVAL

On requisition of Major General S P Singh, Security head, Art of Living was organized World Cultural Festival on the banks of Yamuna River, Delhi w.e.f. on 11th March, 2016 to 13th March, 2016. 07 teams of 08 Bn NDRF, Ghaziabad, UP comprising GOs-08, SOs-22 Ors-227 Total- 257 pers along with 12 boats, Water rescue related equipment and CBRN equipment were deployed at DDA Vacant Ground, Yamuna Bank, New Delhi on 11.03.2016, 12.03.2016 & 13.03.2016 in c/w World Cultural Festival for emergency response. During the deployment NDRF Medical team provided medical treatment to 185 persons at venue site.

On 08.03.2016 at about 2130 hrs an information received from District Administration, Banglore, Karnataka that a truck carrying Thionyl Chloride met with an accident and turned turtle on Mysore road Chengeri check post Distt- Bangalore. Accordingly one CBRN team of NDRF along with CBRN equipment mobilized for the incident site at 1740 hrs and reached at 2000 hrs. Team inspected and analysed the incident site with all precautionary measures by utilizing all their skills and technique to neutralize the hazardous liquid. The tanker got completely damaged and leaked. CBRN team with the help of Police, Fire Service and civil authority covered the spill over liquid with sand/soil. However, due to continuous discharge of liquid the smell was spread in about 200 mtrs of the surrounding area. Traffic movement the area was halted to avoid any contamination from harmful liquid. Completely liquid discharged from the leakage tanker without any affect to the public.

Due to incessant rain from 1st December 2015 at Chennai and around, a disastrous flood situation was aroused in Tamilnadu & Puducherry. First time in the history of DM Operations, 50 teams of NDRF were deployed in a State of the country for rescue and relief operation. NDRF Teams evacuated 22450 flood affected persons to safer places and distributed 2, 41,904 Food Packets, 2, 10,372 water pouches & 56,965 Clothes/Blankets, 46 Boxes Medicine, & other relief items.

On 25thApril 2015, Nepal faced the worst disaster in the form of Earthquake of magnitude 7.8, resulting into massive loss of lives and infrastructure. The tremors were also felt in Northern India and raised the fear of a humanitarian disaster across the Himalayan nation. On the direction of the Government of India, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed its 16 USAR teams comprising of more than 700 rescuers along with 18 dogs trained in USAR operation with latest gadgets at various earthquake hit areas of Nepal viz. Goodbal, Tanu Hospital, Balajutra, Balkhu, Kopan, Vasundranamunatol, Gangabhu, Maharganj, Brijeshwari, Shobha Bhagawati Bridge, KV Army area, Tilganga,Sundra, K.V. School near Embassy, White Gumba, Stungal, Gongbhu, PM residence area, Balaju, Balaju bypass & Kathmandu to assist the Nepalese Authority in “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief” (HADR) work. Team conducted SAR ops w.e.f. 25thApril,2015 to 4th May,2015.

Under the able leadership of Sh. O.P Singh, DG, NDRF who personally supervised the operation, NDRF rescued 11 injured persons and retrieved 133 dead bodies from under the rubble of debris, organized medical camps and attended. Besides, NDRF also assisted MHA and NDMA to dispatch 1176.571 tonnes of relief materials donated by various agencies to quake affected peoples of Nepal via rail/ road route.

(ii) Bihar & Uttar Pradesh (India) :The Nepal earthquake also affected northern part of India, resulting in collapse of building and communication setup. After getting direction from MHA, NDRF mobilized its 04 teams on 25.04.2015 to Supaul, Motihari, Darhbanga & Gopalganj in Bihar & 01 team at Gorakhpur in UP . Further on 26.04.2015 team deployed at Motihari was further diverted to Raxaul (Bihar). Teams deployed in Bihar conducted rescue operation and shifted 180 patients from damaged building/ wards to safe building in Darbhanga Medical College and Hospitals. Team deployed at Raxual, East Champaran helped State Govt. in shifting of 409 persons coming from Nepal to Relief Centre at Hajarimal High School, Raxual.

17 teams of NDRF comprising approx 600 rescuers were mobilized on 28.07.2015 in connection with flood like situation in various parts of Gujarat. Teams were deployed at Suigam, Deesa Harara, Thered, Bhabhar, Deodhar, Dhanera & Palanpur in district Banaskantha and Patan. Teams conducted rescue and relief operation under the supervision of Sh. R.K. Rana, Dy. Inspector General. During the operation NDRF rescued 1430 maroonedperson to safer places,recovered 04 dead bodies, distributed 06 qtl relief material and 1,27,898 water & food packets and medicines to 445 persons teams. On 02.08.2015, teams of NDRF recovered 200 gram Gold, 05Kg Silver & cash of ? 02 lakh. Teams also assisted local administration indisposing of dead bodies of 268 animals.

 

Rajasthan Flood

08 teams of NDRF comprising 296 rescuers were mobilized w.e.f. 28.07.2015 and deployed at Jhalawar, Jalor, Kota, Jaipur, Udaipur, Pali, Sirohi & Barmer in Rajasthan. During the flood rescue operation NDRF rescued 238 marooned persons to safer places, retrieved 05 dead bodiesdistributed 17 qtl relief material, 20 tarpaulin, 2435 water & food packets and distributed medicines to 432 persons.

During Monsoon 2015, 07 teams of NDRF were deployed at various flood prone districts including Lakhimpur, Barpeta, Tinsukia and Nagaon district to tackle flood like situation in Assam. The teams carried out various rescue operations and evacuated 2791 persons and 104 livestock to safer places and assisted state authorities in distributing 162 Qtls of relief material.

 

West Bengal Flood

During Monsoon 2015,one team deployed for relief and rescue operation w.e.f. 02/07/2015 to 03/07/2015 at Distt-Darjeeling, WB in connection with flood like situation due to increasing of water level of river Teesta . During rescue and relief operation team evacuated 115 persons to safer place from Vill- Dharampur & Vill-Motia Char, Distt-Jalpaiguri.

17 teams of NDRF comprising more than 700 rescuers alongwith 80 boats and other necessary equipment, were deployed at Siliguri, Darjeeling, South 24 Parganas, East Medinipur, North 24 Parganas, Murshidabad ,Bardhaman, Hooghly, West Medinipur, Birbhum, Howrah, Nadia, & Birbhum in West Bengal during the month of July-Aug,2015. During this deployment teams carried out a number of rescue operations and evacuated 2291 persons and distributed 82.7 Qtl dry ration, 11300 water pouch & 500 no. Tarpaulin, 500 pkt Medicine, 05 carton Candle, 05 carton Match box & other relief material.

Two teams of NDRF were deployed in connection with trapping of 03 labours trapped in a partially collapsed under-construction tunnel at Tehra, Bilaspur (HP). Under the stewardship of Sh. Jaydeep Singh, Commandant, on 21 st Sept, 2015 SI. Naresh Pal and Constable Ashok Kumar rescued two workers Sh. Satish Tomar and Sh. Mani Ram who were trapped in under construction tunnel for more than 9 days. This successful Search & Rescue operation which was full of challenges brought laurels to the NDRF.

 

Amarnath Yatra

04 teams consisting of 165 rescuers along with MFR,/CSSR equipment were deployed at Pahalgam, Chandanwadi, Sheshnag, Baltal & Panchtarini (J&K) w.e.f. 16.05.2015 to 31.08.2015 for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2015 . Before deployment teams participated in table top/ mock exercise at Ganderbal and Anantnag . During the deployment teams conducted SAR ops in connection with flood rescue in area of Teh-Bijbehara, Distt-Anantnag and evacuated 96 persons to safer place.

Tamilnadu : On 12.04.2015, on requisition of local administration, one team conducted rescue operation at Kooranbadi, Distt-Vellore in connection with falling of one child (03Yrs) in a borewell and retrieved the child in unconscious condition in a joint ops with Fire Department/Local authorities and shifted to hospital for further treatment.

Rajasthan: On 27.06.2015 , one team conducted rescue operation at Ajitgarh, Distt-Sikar, Raj in connection with falling of a child in a bore well. On 28.06.2015 team evacuated the child and on 04.10.2015 one team conducted rescue operation in connection with falling of a girl child in bore well at village- Biharipura, Tehsil- Laisot, Distt- Dausa and rescued the girl child .

Maharashtra: On 05.08.2015, on requisition of local administration reg. falling of child into a borewell at Mall Seva, Naigaon, Tehsil- Purander, Distt -Pune 01 team conducted rescue operation and saved life of the victim.

Uttar Pradesh : On requisition of district administration regarding a boat capsize incident & missing of 03 persons in river Dhela at Teh- Thakurdwara, Distt-Moradabad (UP), one team conducted search operation w.e.f. 06.07.2015 to 07.07.2015 and retrieved 02 dead bodies .

Bihar : On requisition of Disaster Management Department, Bihar regarding a boat capsize incident in river Son at Dehri-on-Son, Distt- Rohtash & missing of 06 person, one team conducted SAR ops w.e.f. 21.08.2015 to 22.08.2015 and retrieved 04 dead bodies .

Manipur : On 01.08.2015, on requisition of Secretary(R&DM),Govt of Manipur regarding a landslide incident at village Loumol, Distt- Chandel, Manipur and missing of 20 villagers one team along with 02 dogs was airlifted from Guwahati airbase to Imphal airbase and further airlifted to Joupaiaibol helipad, Distt- Chandel for search and rescue operation.One more team mobilized for incident site by road. Intensive search operation was carried out for the missing persons by NDRF and team retrieved 04 dead bodies on 02.08.2015.

Maharashtra : On 22.06.2015, on requisition of DC ,Distt- Ratnagiri (MH) regarding a landslide incident at Vill- Dapoli, Distt- Ratnagiri & trapping of four persons in the debris, one team conducted search and rescue operation (SAR) and retrieved 04 dead bodies (02 Male & 02 Female).

West Bengal : Two teams conducted search and rescue operation w.e.f 01.07.2015 to 17.07.2015 at Limbu Basti, Mirik, Distt-Darjeeling in connection with land slide incident . During deployment teams retrieved 02 dead bodies .

Assam : On 01.09.2015, on requisition of DC Kamrup (R), one team conducted search and rescue operation at Gauripur, Distt- Kamrup (R), Assam in connection with landslide incident and recovered 02 dead bodies.

Karnataka : On 13/02/2015 two teams of 04 Bn NDRF conducted search and rescue operation at Budigere, Tehsil-Anekal, Distt-Bangaluru in connection with de-railment of 09 boggies of Bangluru-Ernakulam Express and recovered 04 dead bodies from the damaged compartment.

Madhya Pradesh : On 05.08.2015, one team conducted search and rescue operation at Khirkiya, Distt- Harda (MP) in connection with derailment of few bogies of Kamayani Express & Janta Express and retrieved 05 dead bodies .

Uttar Pradesh : On 15.02.2015, on requisition of DM Chanduali one team conducted search and rescue operation at Vill-Dulhipur, Distt- Chanduali in connection with collapse of an under construction Building; and retrieved 11 dead bodies .

Delhi: On 03.07.2015 one team deployed in connection with collapse of the wall of a under construction building at Dwarka Sector-6 Delhi and retrieved 01 dead body and two teams conducted search and rescue operation under the supervision of Commandant 08 Bn NDRF w.e.f. 18.07.2015 to 19.07. 2015 at Vishnu Garden, PS- Khyala, West Delhi in connection with a four stories building collapse. During the operation teams recovered 03 dead bodies.

Maharashtra : On 04.08.2015, on requisition of DDMO Distt-Thane regarding collapse of a three storey building at Nava Para,   Thane & trapping of few persons team conducted SAR operation and rescued 07 live victims & retrieved 12 dead bodies.

Delhi : One team NDRF is deployed on regular basis around the Parliament House for providing response in case of any Nuclear, Chemical, Biological and Radiological emergency during Parliament Sessions.

On the occasion of Independence Day -2015 and Republic Day 2016 two teams alongwith HAZMAT Vehicle & CBRN equipment deployed at Red Fort & Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi to provide CBRN cover.

Delhi: On 29.05.2015 CBRN teams along with necessary radiological equipment deployed at IGI Airport, New Delhi in connection with suspected leakage of radioactive material. Under the supervision of DIG (Operation) NDRF and Commandant, 08 Bn t eam carried out detail monitoring and detection of suspected leakage with the help of detection equipment taking all precautionary measures. Other agencies such as AERB, ERC, INMAS, DAE and Delhi Fire Brigade also participated in the detection. At last, it was found that there was no Radioactive leakage in any of 10 packets of I-131 and M-90. These packets were removed by the team and handed over to Cargo Authorities.

Maharashtra: On 16.08.2015 on requisition of BMC regarding gas leakage incident in a pharmaceutical company near Mithal industry at Andheri Kurlaroad, Kakinaka, Sagbag, Mumbai one CBRN team carried out operation and rescued one person and handed over chemical powder to BMC for further investigation .

Punjab : On 13.06.2015, on requisition of DM, Distt- Ludhiana regarding leakage of ammonia gas from a tanker at Doraha, Distt- Ludhiana on Ludhiana-Delhi highway three teams of were deployed under the supervision of Dy. Inspector General Sh. R K Rana and Commandant 07Bn . The damaged tanker was shifted 04 kms away from the incident site in order to reduce its effect on the habitation. As the situation became normal all teams were de-inducted.

 

Sabarimala Mela at Pathanamthitla (Kerala)

Two teams deployed at Pampa & Sannidhanam, Distt-Pathanam Thitla (Kerala) in c/w Sabarimala Mela for emergency response w.e.f. 13.11.2014 to 19.01.2015. Teams gave, Pre Hospital Treatment (PHT) to 568 victims in Sannidhanam & Pumba.
